I spent some time today playing around with smoke. It's absolutely amazing the beautiful details that you can capture when you freeze smoke with the right lighting. I used the Nikon D750 and 2 SB-900 speed lights to light the smoke, and a small LED flashlight was used to help in focusing on the smoke.
Took drive into Winnipeg yesterday and of course I brought my camera along. Got this amazing 5 image panoramic shot with Olympus OMD EM-1 and stitched it together on the iPhone. It was a really amazing site to see. My buddy Doug Friesen was along and got this amazing shot of me capturing the scene with my iPhone.
Caught a glimpse of what looked to be a beautiful scene so I quickly raced home to grab my camera and got a quick shot. Quick because the sun was setting and because I was losing all feeling in my fingers. It was soooo cold outside.
Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day, the temperature was great, there was a beautiful soft snow fall. The fresh snow had turned everything into a winter wonderland. My first thought when I looked out was hoar frost, then I realized it was light snow that was sticking to all the branches on the trees. It's days like this that going to work becomes that much tougher :)
